Jo King Salon Series

Jo King is an internationally acclaimed burlesque and striptease performer, teacher, choreographer, speaker and sensual confidence guru. With over 35 years’ experience in the self development industry as a motivational coach, her unique salons, classes and seminars have been attended by thousands of women from all over the world. She has taught, choreographed and worked with many famous celebrities, actresses, models and burlesque stars including Agyness Deyn, Dawn O’Porter, Immodesty Blaize, Jaime Murray, Miss Polly Rae, Satan’s Angel and Paloma Faith, to name just a few. Her body of work includes: many film, television (The Crippendales Ch4, The Real Dirty Dancing BBC3, Strippers E4) and radio appearances, speaking at a variety of events including the Athena Network Inspire Conference and the Bites at the Royal Festival Hall, teaching cast members from the Royal Shakespeare, Extant and Graeae theatre companies, hosting numerous shows, and most impressively being the founder of The London School of Striptease and The London Academy of Burlesque, the first pole-dancing, striptease and burlesque schools in Europe.

Kingesis© – Sensual Confidence Salon

During my many years as a performance-art teacher and choreographer, I met hundreds of women who had experienced problems accepting and embracing their physicality. Unfortunately a negative body-image can seriously impair the quality of a person’s life, sabotage relationships and in some cases it can undermine their confidence totally. It was my encounters with these women that informed my decision to create Kingesis© Sensual Confidence Salons.

My aim is to help women reconnect with the essence of their sensuality and to discover the therapeutic joy in freedom of expression, through movement and self-acceptance. These salons incorporate verbal and physical theatre exercises, positive body imagery, invaluable self-confidence techniques and some liberating moves.

No dance ability required. Clothes that allow freedom of movement are advisable.

£15 per place.

Glamour Puss – Burlesque Salon

In this class I will teach classic burlesque moves, walks, poses, some tricks of the trade, elegant and entertaining prop work and a sassy routine.

No dance ability required. Clothing that makes you feel sexy/fab/glam but, give ease of movement is required. Shoes with a heel of some sort are preferable too.

£20 per place.

Strip Teaser – Striptease Salon

I will teach the artistry of the tease as well as a super sexy striptease routine which can be recreated in the bedroom. This will include: exotic-dance moves, tantalizing tricks, facial expression tips, elegant removal of clothing and profess all performance techniques.

No dance ability required. Clothing: shoes with a heel of some sort, two pairs of knickers, a back-fastening bra, a long-sleeved button front shirt or blouse, a skirt with a side or back zip.

£30 per place.

Showgirl Sexy

I have created this 2-hour workshop especially for the Sunday of Sexhibition and specifically for professional burlesque performers.

I have been asked by many performers to help bring out their inner tigress, as apparently, a number of burlesquers have never actually learnt the artistry of striptease, so with that in mind I have created “Showgirl Sexy”.

I will show you how to enhance your movements, striptease ability and overall performance. This workshop will focus on the essential elements that will enable you to perform a tantalising and elegant burlesque striptease. You will learn how to inject your performances with sensuality and how to connect with your audiences in a more seductive and powerful way.

I will demonstrate the most skilful and attractive ways to remove the following items: PLEASE BRING AS MANY OF THESE AS POSSIBLE: gloves, a dress (pull down, back zip, side zip and /or wrap-around) a bra (preferably back fastening) and knickers (bring an extra pair).  Please wear shoes with a heel of some description which are comfortable.

If we have enough time, I will be happy to answer questions about any other aspects of the business.
